Rainy nights in New York City are annoying but also quite beautiful. There's something about a rainy evening in the City that brings me a sense of comfort. Knowing you will be home soon to your cozy apartment where you can change into sweats and fuzzy socks is quite motivating to get you to pick up the pace! And of course the lights and reflections make everything just a little bit magical. It does stink if you're stuck without an umbrella but you can pop into any drug store and pick one up for a few bucks. I love me a rainy evening in Manhattan!
In a world where there are rules to comply with, directions to follow and deadlines to be met, it's nothing short of liberating to work in a creative environment where I have complete and total artistic freedom. Nature walks and simply observing the world around me at my leisure, enables me to produce images that convey a sense of calm, beauty and joy. I'm a native New Yorker who spent many years in Hawaii before moving to my current home in Southern California.
