It's happy hour for these Mallard ducks. As the sun sets, they seem to be enjoying a late afternoon hanging out on the dock as if they had a long day at work. I felt the same way! In case you didn't know, the male Mallards are the colorful ones. The females are just plain shades of brown, but they still have orange feet. There's one female in this picture, all the way in the back on the left. I go to this dock a lot and it's unusual to see so many ducks at once gathered on the dock. But no one was fishing or even around for that matter so I think they felt safe. Until they realized the paparazzi was in the background and then they all left.
