Leucadendrons, also known as cone bushes, are a diverse group of evergreen shrubs native to South Africa. They belong to the Proteaceae family, which includes other well-known plants like proteas and banksias. Leucadendrons are admired for their unique and striking flower heads, which are composed of tightly packed, cone-shaped structures called "cones." These cones come in a range of colors, including shades of red, yellow, orange, pink, and green, and often exhibit intricate patterns and textures.

The foliage of leucadendrons is typically leathery, with narrow or lance-shaped leaves that vary in size and color. The leaves can be gray-green, silvery, or even burgundy, adding visual interest to the plant even when not in bloom.
