A drawing by Winslow Homer in 1874. A group of four children sitting on a split rail fence wearing hats. Farm crops can be seen in the background, probably corn. Featuring children in art was popular during reconstruction as it conveyed a sense of hope after the Civil War. This colorized version of Homer's drawing adds a little more life to this graphite drawing.
